Google Cloud Next '17

March 20, 2017 /Andy Guo/Technology

It was a great experience for Awakedata to attend Google Cloud Next 2017 in San Francisco from March 8–10. We were excited to see numerous peers participating in the conference and to build connections with some of them. Here are some thoughts that we would like to share with you.

Google is making a huge effort to democratize artificial intelligence. Now Google Cloud provides a whole spectrum of services, from training platform for customers to train their own models, to service APIs for customers to directly utilize Google's AI achievements.

Specifically, in the area of image and video analysis, they have provided ways to search for interesting content from videos, and search for similar pictures on large scale.

With the full-package services provided by Google Cloud, now start-ups like us can focus on developing services and applications, instead of building everything from scratch. In Awakedata, we are not only having our services in the all-in-one box, but starting to build services based on the cloud, delegating the heavy lifting infrastructure’s work behind the scene to Google Cloud.

So what is the takeaway from the conference? AI is not the future; AI is the reality. As an AI focus company, we feel really excited to have the opportunity to build something that could improve user experience. It is felt obliged to share the most cutting-edge technologies with you and create better services and applications in return.

Until next time …
